Benjamin Mao

Mr. Mao is a Senior Partner and leads the Services practice area at Kohlberg. He is a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee and the Investment Committees of Private Equity, Strategic Equity and Credit. In addition to his investing responsibilities, Mr. Mao also contributes to developing the Firm’s investment strategy, portfolio construction and pipeline development. Mr. Mao joined Kohlberg in 2002, was named a Partner in 2010 and a Senior Partner in 2024. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Mao was previously with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Credit Suisse First Boston and Ewing Management Group. He is a member of the board of directors of AWP Safety, BluSky, CLEAResult, ENTRUST Solutions Group, GPRS, Loenbro, Myers EPS, RESA Power, Riveron, Sara Lee Frozen Bakery, Senneca and USIC. Mr. Mao received an A.B. from Harvard College.
