Bill Welch

Bill Welch is a board member of Cadence, part of PCI’s advanced drug delivery team, and supports the Kohlberg healthcare team with his experience in a range of services to bio-pharma, diagnostics, and medtech customers.

Prior roles include serving as Chief Technology Officer of Phillips-Medisize until December 2021. Soon after joining Phillips-Medisize in 2002, he assumed leadership of their pre-production services organization, which grew into a 900-person team spanning front-end innovation, development, and new product introduction. As part of the executive team, he was core to the transition from a domestic founder-held component maker to a global device CDMO under Kohlberg sponsorship from 2010-2014, including the transformational acquisition of Medisize in 2011 with 5 European locations. Under Kohlberg and thereafter, he was active in the company’s merger and acquisition activity, including as business lead for the search, acquisition, and integration of contract development and manufacturing locations in China and Denmark.

Prior to joining Phillips-Medisize, Mr. Welch worked 12 years in the Tier 1 automotive and electronics industries, in technical,
supervisory, and business unit leadership roles. Mr. Welch received a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from University of Minnesota Duluth.
