James A. Wier

Mr. Wier has been affiliated with Kohlberg since 1999 and became an Operating Partner in July 2005. Mr. Wier served as President & CEO of Simplicity Manufacturing, Inc., a Kohlberg portfolio company from 1994 to 2004. Prior to that, Mr. Wier served a number of key roles at Briggs & Stratton Corporation, including Corporate Executive Vice President. Prior to Briggs & Stratton, he was an Audit Manager with Arthur Anderson & Co. While President & CEO of Simplicity, Mr. Wier served as Chairman of the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute, the trade association for the industry. Mr. Wier is currently a member of the board of directors of Stanadyne Corporation and SVP Holdings, Ltd. Mr. Wier holds a B.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
