James A. Kohlberg

Prior to co-founding the Firm in 1987, he was with KKR from 1984 to 1987 and while there was involved in a number of buyout transactions including those of Safeway Stores and Red Lion Inns. Prior to joining KKR Mr. Kohlberg was employed by Merrill Lynch & Co. He is a member of the board of directors of AGY Holdings Corporation, Holley Performance Products Inc., Kohlberg Capital Corporation, and SVP Holdings, Ltd. Mr. Kohlberg holds a B.A. from Golden Gate University and an M.B.A. from New York University.
